Listed in The Times Magazine a
a Top Spinal Surgeon

20 June 2012

Mr Jackowski was cited as one of Britains top spinal surgeons in a special edition of The Times magazine. The Consultant spinal neurosurgeon was cited as a pioneer of spinal microsurgery and as a world expert on disc replacement.

The list is based on an annual survey of the opinions of a large number of specialists in Britain. Those surveyed were asked for their recommendations on the UKs 50 best surgeons, and the 50 singled out were
described as "some of the brightest and most respected names from nearly 20,000
surgeons in the UK." Journalist Melanie Reid explained their approach: "We asked
numerous experts for their recommendations and sifted out just a few. This is, therefore, a
guide to British surgical brilliance rather than a scientific study. There are
many other superb consultants who work quietly away, saving lives, bringing freedom
from pain and release from disease, and this special edition celebrates them as much
as it salutes the more well-known."

Mr Jackowski, said: "I am delighted to be listed amongst The Times top doctors list, and honoured that colleagues from my own and other disciplines have recognised the quality of my work and dedication to the successful well being of my patients. Its great news for my patients since the list has been compiled by a survey of independent leading specialists. I hope it will help my patients feel reassured when they have to make informed and confident decisions about their treatment.

The Birmingham Spinal Clinic is a multidisciplinary team led by spinal surgeon Mr Andre Jackowski. The Spinal Clinic aims to provide the best possible evidence-based treatments for patients with spinal problems whether by simple advice, physiotherapy exercises, pain relief or if indicated by spinal surgery.
